Hunger Games

The book was epic.

the movie was even more so.

I have to admit, when push comes to shove, I'm more of a movie person than book person. That is not to say I always or even most of the time prefer a movie version to a book version, but when given the choice between going to see a movie at the theater and reading a book at home, I'm gonna choose the movie.

And Hunger Games was absolutely amazing. They captured the tone of the book perfectly with the rhythm of the film. They used the shaky cam a bit to much for my taste, but it worked with the hectic, hard pounding tone of the Games. The cornucopia bloodbath... man, it just screamed "shit is getting real." I just couldn't get enough. I saw it opening night, and again last night. And I will definitely be buying the DVD.

I read some person going on about how Josh Hutcherson failed playing Peeta. I have to completely disagree. Peeta is supposed to be a slightly awkward character, finding it kind of hard to express how he feels to Katniss. I think Josh did it absolutely perfect. Not to mention the looks we spot on. Man, that dude is good looking. They all were. There actually wasn't one person in the movie who wasn't good looking. ooh.
