I just realized my room really shows who I am more than anything else. It's so crazy and weird, with random stuff up, but everything about it is me. Lemme give you a lowdown.
I have a bookcase overflowing with books from Lord of the Rings to politics to biographies. I have a closet full of dresses, skirts, hoodies and jeans. The top shelf of the closet also has more books. My school desk is to big for the room and not big enough for me, it has more books and papers and other random paraphernalia than I think one piece of furniture should ever have to hold. Not to mention the fact that it is plastered with glow in the dark stars and technicolor sticky notes.
On my walls and ceiling (yes, ceiling) are posters. I have blueprints of Star Wars technology and Echo Base, Two Hunger games posters, Two Pirates of the Caribbean posters, a Captain America poster, a map of Narnia, a homemade Deathly Hallows banner, an authentic looking copy of the Declaration of Independace and the Gettysburg address, a Real Steel poster, and a cork board full of quotes from Shakespeare among other things. I also have a mini monkey cork board that has my Hogwarts letter. My nightstand and vanity are both quite full but perfectly organized with yet more books and other junk.
Oh, and there is an entire galaxy of Glow in the dark stars all over my ceiling that are so much fun to look at at night.
I am so random, with so many crazy interests, my mom says it looks like I have multiple personality disorder. I guess in a way I do, but... no, I kinda do.

Gender
Ok, this is going to be a long one, you might want to go to the bathroom, get a drink, just get ready 'cuz I have a lot to get off my chest.
What has happened to this world when I feel weird, strange, slightly alienated because I'm 17 and a virgin? wtf is up with that?
And on that note, I feel awkward because I am the only one of my friends who hasn't had some sort of boy trouble, be it almost relationships, or relationships gone sour, what have you. I guess its because with my interests I have always been "one of the guys," between star wars and star trek and pretty much anything to do with weapons and history. But I have never been asked out, never even had any of those awkward "are we more than friends" moments. I know that really isn't anything to complain about, but when all the people you hang out with are constantly talking about guys and guy troubles, it gets annoying that you have nothing to add to the conversation.
And it's not like I'm not girly. I wear makeup, skirts, I worry about my hair. But it just seems like guys prefer something else. Now granted, with this also comes something good, I have a lot easier time talking with guys than most of my friends because they get all flirty and start worrying about weather they are impressing them or not, I don't buy that crap. It's just frustrating that the only time I almost got asked out was by a T.A. in my martial arts class who ran away like I was carrying the plague when he found out how old I was.
speaking of relationships, I'm tired of hearing about the homosexuality debate. IT'S NATURE PEOPLE! And don't give me the crap about homosexuality being found in other animals, I'm not talking about other animals, I'm talking about humans. The basic function of human life is to procreate and raise the next generation. Gay couples can not do that. Adoption is there, yes, and artificial insemination, but that is not the natural order( which is not to say that I am against such things entirely, it just shouldn't be an excuse for gays.) Plus, studies show proper emotional growth for a child requires two parents, male and female. Not to mention the fact that when you look at a gay couple one person will inevitable have a much more masculine attitude, while the other will be more feminine, it's just how these things work.
I am not dissing gay people. I am not going to make a cross sign and run away if you tell me you are gay. I'm just dissing the lifestyle, and the excuses people give for living it.
And, notice I did not mention religion once in there? I could get into a whole other argument about that, but I won't right now.
Oye, that felt good.
Peace out.

Hunger Games
The book was epic.
the movie was even more so.
I have to admit, when push comes to shove, I'm more of a movie person than book person. That is not to say I always or even most of the time prefer a movie version to a book version, but when given the choice between going to see a movie at the theater and reading a book at home, I'm gonna choose the movie.
And Hunger Games was absolutely amazing. They captured the tone of the book perfectly with the rhythm of the film. They used the shaky cam a bit to much for my taste, but it worked with the hectic, hard pounding tone of the Games. The cornucopia bloodbath... man, it just screamed "shit is getting real." I just couldn't get enough. I saw it opening night, and again last night. And I will definitely be buying the DVD.
I read some person going on about how Josh Hutcherson failed playing Peeta. I have to completely disagree. Peeta is supposed to be a slightly awkward character, finding it kind of hard to express how he feels to Katniss. I think Josh did it absolutely perfect. Not to mention the looks we spot on. Man, that dude is good looking. They all were. There actually wasn't one person in the movie who wasn't good looking. ooh.

Cedar for Catholics
I don't understand why it isn't more commonplace for Catholics to celebrate the Passover. Yes it is a Jewish ceremony, but Jesus was Jewish, and his Last Supper was a celebration of the Passover with his friends.
I teach a religious education class to third graders, and every year before Easter we of course talk about the passion, death, and resurrection of Christ, that is paramount. But we also watch the movie "The Prince of Egypt" and the kids participate in their own Cedar meal.
The Catholic religion has its roots in Judaism, and I think it is important that the kids know that; not to mention the fact that the story of Moses is in truth an integral part of Catholicism as well.
And it always helps that the kids enjoy it too. :)

I gots a new bag!!
It's this new messenger bag I got from thinkgeek.com ( amazing website, by the by) and it is great. It is absolutely massive, actually fits my 17" computer in the laptop sleeve, and has enough pockets to make it easy to organize but not so many that you don't know what to do with them all
The only thing I don't like about this bag is because of the fact that it's so huge I condensed two school bags into it and now it weighs a ton. Literally. I swear to god this thing probably weighs thirty pounds.
No. Effing. Joke.
