Black history month

I really hate the idea of black history month. I think it is insulting to African Americans. Do we have a white history month? How about Irish, or German? No, because we just consider them a part of human history. Well guess what, so is black history!!


We focus so hard on reversing and making up for racism in the past that we over correct, and now we're being racist towards white people!!

I think it is insulting to all those involved, and I really really dislike black history month.

I need a hero!

You know what I really want? A female hero. And no, not a girl hero, I know there are lots of those. What I want is a feminine, girly, womanly heroine. All the heroine's out there right now are fighters, masculine, not girly. Many times one of the comedic moments in a story is when the heroine is forced to glam up for one reason or another. I want a girly heroine, one who wears makeup, skirts, hell, maybe even heels!

And while we're at it, why don't we get into a truly masculine hero too! Let's play to the stereotypes and break them at the same time, how about it?

We are watching "Jonah, a Veggietales movie" in my religious education class today. I'm really excited, because Jonah is one of my favorite veggietales. It is such a sly way to slip so many good lessons kids need to learn, and they find them extremely entertaining.

So. Much. FUN!!

I'm making a book list

I have decided there are so many books in my head that I can't keep track of them all. Plus, when I actually have the time to read a book for pleasure, I can never think of anything!!

So I grabbed a notebook, and I'm filling it up fast with the literally gazillions of books I want to read.

I have decided.

I am conservative.
I am catholic.
I support the military with a vengeance.

I am tired of the crap mainstream music artists are throwing at me.

Therefore I have decided I'm going to get into country music. There are so many really good people who sing country, I really want to support.

The Metamorphoses

I just read one of the most messed up short stories of my entire life. I can't remember the author's whole name, but I'm pretty sure it was Franz something.

This book was majorly creepy. I can't tell you a whole lot about it without ruining a major plot point, but let me just tell you it is shiver worthy. Big time.

The only redeeming feature of this story in my opinion was the narration the author did such and incredible job of just wrenching your soul apart as you read it. You feel really sorry for Gregor on the one hand, and totally disgusted on the other.

It was a really well done story, just not my cup of tea. Or coffee. Or anything I would ever go near ever ever again. Period.

Happiness in 900+ pages

I love lord of the rings. These three books are seriously just some of the most remarkable writing ever. Period. In my personal opinion there are two authors vowing for the title of greatest writer of all time. J. R. R. Tolkien and William shakespeare. They are my absolute favorites. I simply cannot read enough of their work to many times.

On hats

Hats are a seriously cool accessory for guys and gals. You can totally change your look with the hat you wear. It's also a cool way to make a bold statement in your look.

As an example, I myself have a propensity to wear bold hats. The most used one is a large brown fedora that looks almost exactly like Indiana jones. I love the looks and complements I get when wearing that hat.

And as for hat hair , well I never style my hair in a way that would be a problem, but deal with it how you choose.

something for nothing

It really annoys me when people are always trying to get something for nothing. LIFE DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY PEOPLE! Some people just don't get that you have to pay your dues.

Like, for instance, people keep going on and on about how lucky I was to get my new job at the library. Guess what people, I had to work my butt off volunteering for two years before they decided to give it to me!

Rocky Horror

Boy oh boy, you gotta have a certain sense of hot to enjoy this movie. I saw the live play a while ago, which was slightly awkward because I knew the guy who played Rocky and found Furter very attractive.

Now after that experience I watched the movie. It was really good. I liked it a lot. Crazy, cooky, and very sexy, this is a movie you can't have lives if you haven't seen.

I'm really excited to go see Underworld today! I absolutely love these movies, even though I'm not a big guts and gore fan the movies just make me happy

ONE DAY MORE!!

One day away from R rated movies! I know how stupid that sounds, but I am a serious movie fanatic. and the fact that a whole section of movies have been cut off to me for the past 16 years is devestating.

Now I know people say "Well, why didn't you just go with your parents or sneak in?"

My parents aren't nearly as into movies as I am and I'll admit it, I'm kind of a goodie-two-shoes. It has never occurred to me in my life to try and sneak into a movie. Well, whatever. I am one day away from total freedom of movie choice!

And to celebrate that, tomorrow I'm going to go see underworld awakening by myself. It's rated R. BOOOOYAAAHH!!! I really like the Underworld movies, they are fo shiz my guilty pleasure. I'm not normally one for lots of guts and gore, but something about those movies just caught me. Maybe it was just Michael Sheen in his amazingness.
