Real Steel

IMDB Reel Steal

This movie is truly a "Rocky Balboa" for the modern age.

Hugh Jackman plays Charlie Kenton , a down on his luck former boxer who has tried to transition to the new world of robot boxing. He gets more and more into debt, trying to buy new robots and having them all crash and burn.

Enter Max, a long lost son. Things happen and Charlie gets stuck with Max. Max finds an old generation 2 sparring bot and fixes him up.

After this, just take the plot line of "Rocky" and you'll pretty much have this movie. What it lacks in originality it makes up in heart and fun. Max and Charlie are both super stubborn, which makes for many silly situations. Atom (the robot equivalent of Rocky) has a shadow function which Max uses to make him dance.

This movie is fun on many levels, although Max has a bit of a potty mouth. Over all, lots of fun.

Word to the wise

When someone tells you the and are going to try choreographing a five minute combat sequence for twenty little (I'm talking really little) kids, slap them, tell them they are insane, and don't let them do it.

Aside from that sentiment, I actually did really well. I don't know what I would do without me brother, though.
